Coming from a University and Broadcast background, conference/convention speaking was a natural transition for me.

Most of my convention/conference programs are an “Action Workshop” format where participants can share their experience and thoughts through group discussion and team reporting techniques.
With aviation programs as diverse as fun banquet speeches titled, "Living Successfully with a Pilot,” to conference training on topics ranging from “Promoting Success for Women in General Aviation” to “Using Aviation History to Market Your Airport,” I have worked with General Aviation organizations as the Upper Midwest Aviation Symposium, Nebraska Aviation Conference, Colorado Airport Operators Association, and many others over the years.

Recently, I was thrilled to earn this endorsement from Gary Ness, retired North Dakota Aeronautics Director, “A few years ago Dr. Penny Hamilton was the featured final night banquet speaker at the Upper Midwest Aviation Symposium, the annual ‘Gathering of Eagles’ in North Dakota. Her presentation was naturally focused on aviation and delivered with a flare towards humor. Penny kept the aviators and non-aviators audience’s attention on the subject matter. Her passion for the industry and her lifelong attachment helps create a great combination which communicates well to the audience. I highly recommend her as a speaker whether it is classroom, general session and/or banquet.”

Examples of past program topics for business and professional groups are “Public Relations for Small Business,” “Managing Volunteers Effectively,” “Recruiting & Motivating Volunteers,” “Preventing Burnout,” “Listening Skills,” “Fund Raising Secrets,”  and “Improving Customer Service.”

Sample comments written on seminar evaluation forms from past training programs: “Fun and super information,” “Well prepared and very effectively presented,” “Very helpful with excellent examples related to my business,” “Enjoyable and informative.”

Improving core communication and listening skills helps others succeed. Often managers are promoted to supervisory positions without introducing them to leadership and management skills they need to be successful in their new role. Several research studies reveal for every dollar invested in personal and staff development seven dollars in increased productivity or health cost savings. Pretty good return on your investment.
